Technical Consultancy and Technology Training Services are services provided to customers of DOST and are conducted as part of the assistance given by the SETUP program. Experts and resource speakers and trainers that are subject matter specialists from the DOST system, other government agencies, the academe, and from the private sector, are deployed to DOST customers.

Objective
It aims to provide technical consultancy and technology training services to DOST customers to aid them in improving and upgrading their production, processes, products, and on other aspects in their businesses and industries, resulting to quality products and excellent services.

Services
One Expert is a one-stop-shop facility for the provision of S&T expertise and related services that are being provided by DOST to clients that need STI assistance anywhere in the Philippines.

The Manufacturing Productivity Program involves the deployment of consultants who are industry experts, productivity specialists, and other technical experts to assist MSMEs in the manufacturing sector. They provide recommendations for improvement of the firms’ overall operations to achieve higher productivity.

Agricultural Productivity aims to institutionalize effective farm management strategies including transfer and commercialization of appropriate technologies to improve agricultural and aquaculture productivity. Accredited consultants are deployed to qualified agri and aqua enterprises to undertake productivity improvement studies.

The DOST Food Safety Services is a component of the DOST Integrated Food Safety Program that aims to provide S&T assistance and training on food safety to the food industry. The program involves the deployment of food safety consultants to assist food processors and other food establishments in complying with food safety requirements, standards, and regulations.

The Environmental Management program involves the deployment of accredited consultants to assist enterprises minimize wastes, reduce carbon footprint, and avoid legal penalties. It aims to enhance the productivity and profitability of the enterprise as well as improve its environmental performance.

The Machinery and Equipment Management program provides training and will include empowering operators to help maintain their machine & equipment. It also covers the assistance in documentation requirements for an effective Preventive Maintenance/Total Preventive Maintenance like the use of simple Preventive Maintenance Procedure, Preventive Maintenance Work Instructions, Preventive Maintenance Plan, and Preventive Maintenance Checklist, among others.

The Product and Process Development Assistance involves deployment of accredited consultants to conduct studies intended to develop new product variants, improved products, and new products from existing equipment in both food and non-food manufacturing sectors. Higher level assistance such as product creative design and industrial design development can be given to non-food manufacturing enterprises. Outputs include product concept or product portfolio for prototyping or product quality manual.

The Quality Management consultancy aims to assist organizations that need to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The consultancy is based on the latest version of ISO 9001 International Standard for Quality. Through the effective application of the system, customer satisfaction is enhanced, processes are improved, and conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements is enhanced.

Who can avail?
Any MSMEs engaged in food processing, manufacturing of furniture and fixtures, gifts and holiday decors, metals fabrication, and other manufacturing firms identified as priority area of the Small and Medium Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program 4.0 (SETUP 4.0) and agri-based enterprises.

How to avail?
Clients may submit Letter of Intent (LOI) and accomplished Request & Criteria for Assistance Form (PM-TO-TCS-08-02-F1) to the Provincial Science and Technology Offices (PSTOs).
